My Very Long Week
A palm reader came up to me at a bar tonight and told me to revive my diary. I usually do write privately, but have stopped for whatever reason. She also told me to stop writing only about films and music (HAHAHA) and focus on my life.
This has been a very long week for me. I woke up last Tuesday thinking it was Thursday. And when Thursday finally came, I was so ecstatic for the smell of Friday. So I will recap the past few days.
Thursday
After work, I went home and changed into a dress. The weather was warm and beautiful. I love how my block catches the edge of sunset every night. I went out for dinner at Queens Comfort with Belgie. They have a huge white screen towards the end of the restaurant where they project films. Jim Jarmusch's "Dead Man" was screening in silence amongst chatter. I got there early and texted Belgie "Hurry up, B52's Rock Lobster is playing!" She arrived with a "You have no idea how much I've been looking forward to this." A nice relaxing dinner was long overdue for the both of us.
After dinner we went back to my place to pick up my computer and sleeping clothes since I was gonna sleep over. We walked to Cafe Bar for boardgames and desserts. I ordered a Mexican Hot Chocolate and she got Hot Chocolate Chai. She taught me how to play Othello. We had a very epic battle in which she gracefully won. We then walked to her place and spent the rest of the night hermitting and trading music.
Friday
I left Belgie's in the morning and walked home. Got ready for work and made breakfast. Ate with my roommates before I left. Work came and went pretty fast. Around 8 I left for Union Square to meet Gonzo. I haven't seen him in over a month since we've both been busy. We went to Republic and both ordered the same thing. We then walked to Alphabet City to meet some friends for drinks at Elsa's. Started to get really tired after a few hours and kept zoning in and out. Ended up leaving them early and took the train home. Got back around 1am and crashed.
Saturday
Woke up to Jenny's phone call in the morning. Talked to her for a little bit then proceeded to the kitchen for brunch. Made myself a scrumptious salad. Had to run to the printers for a freelance job so took off around 2. Rae was a few blocks away at Paper Presentation buying paper for someone's wedding invitations. We met up and walked uptown. Stopped by Sephora to pick up my birthday present. She accompanied me to Trader Joe's since I had to pick up some groceries. We also went to a flea market and shopped for a while. We departed and I went back towards Queens. Went to a thrift shop and found a cute khaki jacket. While I was outside I met a woman named Sheila who owns Matilda's Vintage Curiosity Shoppe. I went into the store and chatted with her for a bit. We talked about Woody Allen and Alfred Hitchcock.
Sunday
This morning I woke up at 9 to the sound of church chimes. Decided to cut my hair. Took a shower and got ready for the day. I had to be at Christopher Street Pier to take pictures of a proposal at 3pm. The plan was to have Tanya (my dear musician friend) to act as a busker and sing a few of the couple's favorite songs. When they take their walk to the pier and see Tanya, the proposal will take place. It did and the lady said yes. I took many pictures. It was wonderful. There was an after party at a bar close by with all their friends waiting. I went and had a great time. That was when the palm reader approached me and Rae for some fun reading. I got really tired after a while so we left. I walked to Union Square to take the R train. Chatted with my mom tonight. Jenny called 30 seconds after I hung up with my mom. And now I'm here writing.
Tomorrow is Monday. According to Ms.Simone, this week will go by fast. Let's hope so.
